Pinterest has become a go-to app for teens seeking inspiration and creativity. It’s safe, fun, and extremely aesthetically pleasing to look at. Pinterest makes finding pictures so much easier, especially when it comes to finding pictures that are clear rather than blurry. It allows you to create a digital mood board without having to waste paper and store your photos, allowing you to not worry about losing them. Pinterest is especially a place to let creativity flow, share your work, and create aesthetics that help you experiment with pictures and designs that really represent you.
Pinterest offers several user-friendly features that make it a go-to app for teens. One key feature is the feature of “pins”, which are bookmarks that people use to save content they love on Pinterest. There are so many pins on pinterest that make it easier for people to be able to find ideas that spark inspiration. Additionally, when you find pins that you especially like, you have the ability to save them to boards, which keep ideas organized and easy to find.
There is also the ability to name your boards and arrange them on your profile however you want. For example, let’s say you are writing a book and you want separate boards for each character, Pinterest allows you to save aesthetics that correspond to your character all while saving them on a board instead of wasting paper. You also have the ability to keep your pins private. Let’s say you are planning a surprise birthday party. You can make your board secret and invite specific people to see your secret boards.
According to Hootsuite, Pinterest has 498 million active users. 85% of these users say they use the app for projects, especially in the early stages.
Sophomore Linnea Boettner said that she uses Pinterest “for inspiration on everything honestly.”
This sentiment is echoed by many users who turn to Pinterest for fresh ideas. In fact, the top searches on Pinterest in 2024 are nail, dinner, and hairstyles ideas.
Another main reason people want to use Pinterest is for outfit inspiration.
Freshman Finn Fisher said that he uses the app “to find art inspo, fashion inspo, and just for fun.”
In addition,
sophomore Mariyam Henderson said that she uses the app to “see what clothes she [I] want to thrift.”
and freshman Leah Hollingsworth said that she uses the fun app “for outfit inspiration for special events.”.
Using Pinterest to find outfits is definitely a very big part of why the app is used.
Pinterest is also much more efficient than searching on the internet. For example, let’s say you are trying to find a good picture of a specific actor, but on the internet all the pictures are bad, you can just go to pinterest and get better pictures. Since Pinterest is filled by people who take pictures from their iphone, the quality is much better.
Overall, Pinterest stands out as a versatile and user-friendly platform that helps teens explore their creativity and organize their ideas efficiently.
