Deadpool and Wolverine
Deadpool and Wolverine is a good Marvel movie, which is a miracle in and of itself. The movie follows Deadpool and Wolverine as they each try to restore/save their respective timelines to save their friends. Hugh Jackman reprised his role as Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds the role of Deadpool. The great chemistry between the characters added to the continuous cameos of old and new characters from the marvel and x-men universes along with the funny, fast pace of the movie made it an easy and fun movie to watch.
Fan reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:

“The plot was chaotic but in a good way, threw alot at you at once and saw what stuck. I was surprised it worked, it would only work in a dead pool movie.”
“Deadpool and Wolverine is a perfect mix of what fans have been waiting for. Apart from seeing these two characters together and their great dynamic, there are also other interesting things like the action, the scenery, and the entertainment.”
“This film made me love deadpool, the villain was incredible, and the only real criticism is excessive gore at points. Besides that, it is one of 2024’s best films.”
“I mean… it was whatever. Obviously a fun watch with wolverine but it was the worst of the three.”
“I mean, I like the actors, but I can’t believe you people rate it so highly and it made so much money. The superhero thing has been beaten to death.”
“Disrespectful to Christians and blasphemous!”
Wicked
Wicked told the story of Galinda and Elphaba, the witches of Oz, before they met Dorothy. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were great in the lead roles. The songs and dance numbers translated from stage to screen perfectly, and many fans are excitedly waiting for part two.
Fan reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:

“All Time Classic. Man I know musicals are an acquired taste for some people but I think even if you don’t like them you’d have a hard time not having some fun with this. The production value, cinematography, special effects, set design, direction, colors, and costumes are all top notch.”
“I didn’t like it too much singing.”
“Beautiful movie with a great soundtrack as well! Cast did an amazing job capturing the characters!”
“At first, I wasn’t that interested because it’s a musical, but I gave it a try, and I’m blown away. For one, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were absolutely amazing. Their chemistry works so well here, and Cynthia’s voice is beautiful.”
“Overall the movie felt much longer than its fairly ample run-time, with the saving grace being the final 30 mins. The prior 2 hours could have been condensed as it was a bit of a snooze fest.”
“I loved the message. The actors did a great job. At first, I was surprised at the 2 hour 40 min movie was only part 1, but I’m glad they did it this way.”
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice
I thought that this movie was just okay. It was made different from the plot of the original movie, and the casting and acting were perfect. It got a little tedious and hard to watch when the characters were going through the same tropes that their actors had done over the years, and the story seemed rushed and sort ofblurred together. It’s a great Halloween movie though, just like the original.
Fan reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:

“It touches on its history but also has its own unique story to unpack.”
“This had four or five different storylines that could have been interesting if they had been given the time to develop, but unfortunately the best thing I can say about this movie is “a lot of stuff happens”.”
“Just more nostalgic scrap that adds nothing new. I gave it as high as I did (2.5 stars) for the acting.”
“Movie was great. They revamped an old movie without trying to just completely recreate the old one and I loved that!”
“This movie checked off all the boxes for fans of the original but there was nothing new, no surprises, no left turns. Watching it the first time, I felt like I had seen it already 100 times and was just there to eat popcorn.”
“BEETLEJUICE 2 is a suitably zany sequel, which wisely keeps with the style and spirit of the classic original by utilizing plenty of practical effects and wacky weirdness.”
Dune: Part Two
This movie is a great sequel to Dune, and a good Sci-Fi movie overall. It’s a developing movie in its saga, not a fast paced action movie but more of an explainer of the plot, setting the characters up for the continuation of the story in the next movie. Think of the Empire Strikes Back from the Star Wars saga. Overall a necessary movie if you are invested in Dune, but not a necessary movie to watch if you are just into Sci-Fi.
Fan reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:

“‘Dune: Part 2’ is perfectly different from your average Sci-Fi action movie. Exploring themes of the dangers of false messiahs and political manipulation make this visually stunning film an absolute spectacle!”
“An incredible adaptation. This is not an easy book to put up on the silver screen.”
“Ultimately just another tedious, overly serious sci-fi variation of medieval feudal wars among emperors, dukes, barons, magical sorcery, and plucky indigenes fighting for freedom.”
“Almost three hours of spectacular visuals, outstanding story, and mind-blowing acting. Every cast and crew gave their fullest, and it shines out bright in this masterpiece of a film.”
“The story is pretty boring, which didn’t help in the acting (waste of talent all around). The action sequences are okay, but who really cares about those anymore when they’re not in support of the storyline.”
“A nice collection of visual effects and cool independent scenes. But like the book, the movie is pointless and lacks any positive qualities.”
