Young people everywhere have begun to rebel against the grip of artificial intelligence. The grievances are driven by disbelief in our government’s capability to adapt to and control the technology, and fear of the way AI is violating social and societal norms.
According to research at Stanford, “out of people in 30 countries, Americans had the least faith in their leaders’ ability to regulate A.I. Internationally.”
In other countries, more is done to protect human jobs and the labor force has influence in the ways AI is used. However, America has had over 135,000 job losses due to AI, and lots of labor force benefits are being redirected towards AI implementation.
AI has also been used to set pricing for health insurance and groceries, sometimes using personal data or causing delays in healthcare. Authenticity in the education system has also been stifled by AI, breaking down the fundamentals of the way we teach.
So, who really has the reins: humanity, or AI?
