Her Lacrosse Life: Sarah Barsanti

Tenth grader, Sarah Barsanti, has been playing lacrosse ever since she was 4 years old. Just after going to her sister’s lacrosse game she fell in love with the sport. Sarah loved the way it looked when she played and loved all of the interesting stories her sister would tell her.

The week after her sister’s game she went to her first rec lacrosse practice. After her first practice she goes up to her mom and says “mom this is my favorite thing to do ever!”

Sarah came to Hackley last year, 2021, and is an exceptional student. While being a 3-sport athlete she managed to maintain an A-/A grade average.

As lacrosse is obviously her main sport. She plays soccer and basketball as well. She makes sure to keep working on her strength and cardio during soccer and basketball, because she isn’t as focused on them as she is on lacrosse.

During her free periods she likes to go outside and play catch and wall ball with some of her friends.

Something that Sarah is very adamant about is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She makes sure to eat healthy while also having a balance. She likes to hang out with friends however, she makes sure to keep up with school and homework.

Sarah emphasized her excitement for lacrosse season to begin. “Lacrosse season is my favorite season because I get to play my favorite sport with my best friends,” Sarah said.

Last year the varsity lacrosse team won the NYSIS championship versus Fieldston. Sarah played a role in helping the team win the game. While having many great highlights as defense. She made sure to cheer on her teammates, helping them gain confidence.
