Detroiters is one of the funniest and most underrated sitcoms of the decade and it needs more attention. The show centers around Tim and Sam, lifelong best friends who take over Tim’s dad’s advertising company, a legendary Detroit institution. However, after Tim’s dad is sent to a mental hospital, and the firm no longer has the clientele it once did.
This turns the show into a hilarious compilation of mishaps. In the first episode, the duo runs over Jason Sudeikis while trying to get a Chrysler ad. Throughout the first season, the two create an ad for wigs made out of human hair, help “husky boys” advertise their store without describing who they are selling to, and while making a hot tub ad, pour a bucket of boiling water on the owner.

It might seem like this is gets a little too ridiculous. However, while Tim Robinson’s other show, I Think You Should Leave, becomes overly crazy, Detroiters perfectly toes the line between crazy and hilarious. For me, it makes me think of a more slapstick Brooklyn 99.
Whatever mood you’re in, I highly recommend this show, as it can improve a bad day, or be the perfect end to a great day.
